Mawachihitotaak 2026

The 3rd Mawachihitotaak Métis Studies Symposium will be held at the Deerfoot Inn in Calgary, Alberta from September 20 to 24, 2026.

This gathering of Métis scholars, community members, Knowledge Keepers, language and culture holders, writers, artists, academics, and thinkers will include a range of sessions, such as panels, roundtables, presentations, art, film, music, and poetry. Sharing ideas, connecting, and engaging in conversation are great ways to learn, build relationships, and shape the future of Métis scholarship. By coming together, we can collaborate around community needs and discover Métis scholarship across various disciplines.
